SPAM Press are buzzed to announce our first major in-person event of 2022! To celebrate the release of five new pamphlets and a fresh issue of our online magazine, we’re bringing together seven poets from across Glasgow, Aberdeen, Norwich and beyond.

Nasim Luczaj is a Glasgow-based poet, translator, and DJ. She is the author of HIND MOUTH, a pamphlet for the Earthbound Poetry Series, and her work has appeared in the anthology the weird folds: everyday poems from the anthropocene. Her new pamphlet Enskyment is forthcoming with OrangeApple Press.
Parel Joy is a poet, writer and printmaker. Their work was previously published in Wicked Gay Ways, Blacklist Journal, The Gaudie and Hysteria, and their zine I Dreamt I Was Kissing a Stranger is currently for sale at Good Press in Glasgow. They were recently commissioned to design a temporary mural in Aberdeen's city centre, on view during June 2022, and their work was also included in the Unseen World printmaking exhibition in De Wintertuin, Antwerp. Parel relocated from Aberdeen to Antwerp in the summer of 2021, and occasionally works as a literary translator. The Queen of Cups and Other Poems is their pamphlet debut.
Dan Power is the editor of visual poetry outfit Trickhouse Press. His first pamphlet, PREDICTIVE TEXT POEMS, was published by Spam in 2016. Other publications include the cyberspace adventure SELECTED DREAMS, published with Steel Incisors in 2021, and 'late morning' with Broken Sleep's Legitimate Snack series earlier this year.
Ciara Maguire is a writer living in Glasgow. Her work has previously been published in From Glasgow to Saturn, Daughterhood Zine, Gutter Magazine and more. She is the editor of Queer Futures Zine and is currently rewatching season 4 of The L Word.
Ali Graham lives and works in Norwich. Their poetry has been published by The Tangerine and Cambridge Literary Review, and their essays have been published by Fruit Journal and Stride. They have a pamphlet called Shade Song Sea Dream forthcoming from Distance No Object, a pamphlet called English radiant ground forthcoming from Osmanthus Press, and a book called Shop talk forthcoming with Veer2. They are interested in folds, film, and duration, and they can be found online on Instagram as @aligrhm and on Twitter as @A__Graham.
River Ellen MacAskill is a writer and massage therapist based in Glasgow. Their lesbian road trip novel Coasting and their long poem pamphlet Virility at Home were published last year.

When and where: 6pm on 25th May 2022 @ The Alchemy Experiment, 157 Byres Rd, Glasgow G12 8TS.
Tickets: This event is free and unticketed.
Refreshments: A small table of refreshments will be provided. Corkage for BYOB is £5 which goes to the venue.
Merch: There will be books and merch for sale (we encourage card or paypal payments) – including our shiny new season 6 pamphlets!
Times: Doors are at 6pm and we will be starting shortly afterwards. There will be a break between readings.
Seating: Seats will be provided although do arrive early to avoid disappointment (if you would like to reserve a seat for accessibility reasons please drop us an email).
Accessibility: The Alchemy Experiment is wheelchair accessible, however the toilets are located downstairs and there is no lift access to them. The toilets are gender neutral.
