We are so excited to be welcoming Maya Uppal to the SPAM team, as Assistant Editor! Long term friend of the press - check out some of their work in our online magazine here! and in our most recent multimedia project, Briliant Vibrating Interface here! - Maya is a well known presence, as a writer, programmer and workshop leader in the Glasgow visual arts and writing scene. They are now based in London (so we will hopefully be hosting more London readings, watch this space!). We can't wait to work together on upcoming pamphlets, readings, and other post-internet explorations.
Maya Uppal is a poet working in London/Glasgow. They are interested in hybrid poetics, critical fabulation and writing that explores anti-imperial politics and utopian theory. Their writing can be found in: IN OUR LIFETIME, Prototype 06, David Dale Gallery, and Gutter Magazine amongst others.
Maya will be contibuting their expertise and interest in the fields of archives and ornamentation, critical fabulation or fictional activism, hybrid poetics and cross-medium experiments, essayists, utopianism, islands and cultural geography to the SPAM sphere.
